How much do handmade invitations cost?

It is not possible to give a set price for handmade invitations. The cost is determined by a number of factors - the style of invitation you have chosen, the materials required, and the amount of printing and assembly work involved. If you let us know what type of invitation you have in mind, we are happy to price some options for you. Please note the minimum order for handmade invitations is 25.

Are your prices all inclusive?

Our prices include GST. The only additional cost is the price of delivery.

Do you have a retail shop?

Yes, our shop is called Paperzone and is located at 221 Commerce St, Frankton, Hamilton. Click here for a map.

I like several of your designs. Will you send out lots of free samples?

No! Sorry! All of our girls are really busy and samples take considerable time to create.  We will send one free sample and up to 3 more samples at $5.00 each. This amount will be deducted from any order for assembled hand made invitations.

How much will I save if I make my own invites?

For a simple invite you will save around $1.50 per invitation. Elaborate designs with layering and decorative trims can cost up to $3.00 each to assemble.

It’s about how much time you have and what your time is worth.

If you have the time and skills to create your own stationery you will find it very satisfying to be able to tell admiring guests “I made them myself”. If you are already stressed about never enough time for anything don’t even go there! Let our talented team create your total package.

If I start to make my own invites and they look ‘home made’ instead of ‘hand made’ will you fix them for me?

No! No! No! Sorry but the Invites NZ name is on everything we sell and we are very proud of the standard of work we produce.

Do you help with printing and cutting?

Yes, we offer a print, cut and crease service. This only applies to product purchased from Invites New Zealand.

When do I send out my invites and how long will it take to get my handmade invitations?

Traditionally, invitations should be sent out 6 to 8 weeks before the wedding, But with many couples including overseas guest it is quite common these days to send the invites out 10 or 12 weeks before.
Allow yourself plenty of time before that to choose your design so that you can really enjoy the process without the stress of limited time.

Ideally your invitations should be ordered about a month before you need them, and we suggest you take several weeks before that to work with us and finalise your design to make sure you are really happy with what you have chosen.

However, if you find your wedding date is looming and you are not as organised as you would have liked, let us know and our talented team will work with you in the time frame required.

Is your retail shop open evenings and weekends?

Paperzone hours are 8.30 am – 4.30pm Tuesday to Friday and Saturday 9am til 1pm. However, all of our franchisees offer after hour appointments by arrangement.

We want to make our own wedding invitations. How does this work?

The Invites team have hundreds of ideas and no secrets! Simply choose one of our designs to copy or make an appointment with one of our franchisees or at our shop to discuss your requirements. We offer lots of tips and techniques to enable you to create the perfect invitation for your special day. Allow yourself lots of time so the whole process is enjoyable – as it should be!

My friend had her invites made by your company and she had everything matching - RSVP Cards, Menus, Order of Service Sheets, Place Cards and mini chocolate boxes. If I make my own stationery can I have all that too?

Yes! All of our papers come in A4 sheets so it’s easy to work out how much paper is required for each accessory.

Some of your designs I like have little shiny stones and punched flowers. If I make my own invites how do I get these decorations?

Many of these embellishments are part of our Creative Bride range – exclusive to Invites New Zealand and available to purchase.

What does gsm mean?

Paper weight is measured in grams per square metre (gsm). A standard piece of copy paper is usually 80 gsm. A card that is 240 gsm will be 3 times that weight.

What is tranparent paper?

Transparent is a term given to paper you can see through. Transparent paper is usually patterned and frosted and comes in many colors. It is also called "vellum".

Will the paper go through my home printer?

Printers vary a lot and we recommend testing a few sheets before committing to a big order Most non-transparent papers will happily travel through an inkjet printer though rough surfaces may give varying result.

Some papers will bleed and some inks may not adhere well on metallic, shiny or synthetic surfaces. Laser printers demand special papers that can withstand the high temperatures when fusing toner to them. Most smooth papers will go through a laser printer as will our whole range of transparent papers.

Can I order single sheets of paper to try?

We have had to set a minimum order for any one type of paper, usually 10 sheets but are happy to sell a single sheet for trial printing. Please ask if you would like further information about a paper.

Do you ship overseas?

Yes we do!
We have happy customers world wide!
We can help you organise your invitations wherever you are.

How much will delivery cost?

This will depend on where you are, the size of your order and how soon you would like it delivered.  We will advise you of delivery options and prices before processing your credit card.

How long will my order take to get to me?

This will depend on the shipping option you select. Please remember these times are a guide only and may be longer, especially if there are any public holidays during the time. You choose how quickly you want to receive your order.

What if I need to return my purchase?

In the unlikely event that you are not happy with products received, please return the goods within 7 days of receipt (unused and in the condition you received them, please!) and we will either exchange or refund you in full.
Please note that the goods are your responsibility until we receive them as we cannot take responsibility for goods lost or damaged in transit from you to us.

Handmade wedding invitations are non-returnable as we do not commence work on them until we have received your signed proof and confirmation of order - no need to worry, in 6 years creating wedding packages we have never had an unhappy customer!

How do I pay for my order and are my details safe?

We accept Visa and Mastercard, and have a secure online ordering system that will ensure your credit card details are protected.

When I looked at papers in your online shop on my work computer they appear a different shade to the ones on my home one. How can I tell which shade they are?

Colors can look different on different computer monitors depending on the type of monitor and settings such as brightness and contrast.

Please use the colors shown and their names as a guide rather than exact representation of the colors.
